Some diets only require you to eat meat, like the Atkins diet. Low-carbohydrate diets are also popular to men and women who really want to lose weight. Some diets are really extreme and are actually dangerous when done.

Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and folate are two nutrients that are destroyed when exposed to the heat during the cooking of food. Although, one must be aware that there are certain food groups that become much healthier when cooked. This is because of the breaking down of the fibrous portion of the food. A good example is a tomato. When they are cooked, they will contain three to four times more lycopene than the raw, uncooked ones.
People follow a raw food diet through different ways. The men and women who usually follow a raw food diet are vegans. Some people may consume only raw animal products which include raw milk, cheese that come from raw milk, raw meat (carpaccio), raw fish (ceviche), or Japanese sashimi.
There are those who strictly follow a raw food diet while there are those that may also include cooked food in their diet.
Some people may undergo a raw food detox program or what they call cleanses. They may undergo the program of a detoxification that lasts for three days up to 3 weeks, depending on their willingness to go through it. Following the detox diet, they may continue with their raw food diet program or they may resume their regular eating habits.
